LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT One Sheet Sells for $478,000

A U.S. one sheet for this lost 1927 Tod Browning/Lon Chaney silent horror sold at a record breaking price last Nov. at an auction. The only known copy, this broke the previous record set in 1997 of $453,000 for a one sheet for THE MUMMY.
LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT is considered the ultimate a holy grail for many horror buffs as it has been considered a "lost" film with the last remaining copy being destroyed in the infamous MGM vault fire of 1967. It was semi-reconstructed by Turner Classic Movies in 2002 by using stills and Tod Browning remade it in 1935 as MARK OF THE VAMPIRE.
